Nut Graf

The nut graf is the second paragraph in your story and it is the part of the story that explains the main information and tells your reader why the story is relevant to them. In this paragraph you have to convince the reader to keep reading as well as entertain them without spoiling the end of the article.

The nut graf also serves as a transition, the lead and the rest of the story need to fit together seamlessly and it's the nut graf's job to ensure that it does. The nut graf may also include supporting material to show the readers that the information is important.
